DIAGNOSIS

It shows a typical carcinoid tumor.

This is a hematoxylin and eosin stain showing neuroendocrine cells. There is increased cellularity, uniform cells, granular cytoplasm and round/oval nuclei with a stippled chromatin pattern. Importantly there is no evidence of necrosis or an elevated mitotic index.
